Here is what common description of what the mage builds are used for.

Arcane - Grinding/PvP (maybe along with some fire talents)
Frost - Grinding, Fast Levelling Up (better stick to arcane or fire till level 55)
Fire - The most destructive of them all, used mainly in PvP but a lot of people use it for PvE either.

All those builds have slight variations depending on what you want to achieve with them. Here are some examples of builds you can use for your character. We are by no means trying to imply those are the best, test them and modify them to your needs as you please. Good luck!

Full Frost (needs to be ported to the wiki!) This is a straightforward build. You get a lot of PvE-orientated abilities which will also serve you well in Player vs Player, even though they you won't be as effective as a fire mage would be in similar PvP situations, for example. Try it and see for yourselves. Full Frost Build Minimum Required Level: 70
